Huntingdon road doctor's surgery

Hi,

I wondered if anyone might know if Huntingdon Road Doctor's Surgery is good? I need to move doctor's surgery to one that is nearer to home, while dealing with a complex medical situation so I'd like the move to be as smooth as possible. They seem to have a lot of GPs there but I'm not sure how to figure which one to try as they have no information about specialities listed.

Thanks!

This is my mums surgery. From personal experience experience I would day do not go near Dr Webb. She now has Dr Connan who is absolutely lovely - he even came out to see her yesterday and stayed for over half an hour.

My family are all with Dr Flinn (male) and we are happy with him. Good things about the surgery are that we mostly see our own doctor and also can get a same day appointment if needed (but sometimes with a different doctor). It helps that Dr Flinn is full time whereas some others are part time.
My second choice is Dr Byrne (female) but she is part time. I don't know all the others.
I don't know about specialists though.
Hope this helps.

Hi,

Does anybody know if Dr Hayton is good/nice?

I joined the practice but they are weirdly inflexible and insist in choosing a GP for me and not letting me see any other one. In my previous practice I was allowed to go and see anyone and then just settle on one who I got on with well.

I've signed up with one GP at Huntingdon Road, but didn't find her helpful at all on my first visit. Now I have asked to be moved and they have offered me Dr Hayton or no other choice at all.

Any thought would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Dr Towel has been fantastic with me and with my children. Probably the best GP I've ever had, even though she's young! Yes, Dr Connan is also great, but he's in demand as I'm not the only one to rate him highly!!

Hi,

I used to have Dr.Hayton. I found him nice. He was nice and honest and practical. He didn't just give me antibiotics for a viral throat infection and gave me practical advice instead. I have an unusual, uncommon blood vessel condition that not many GPs are familiar with and it was so refreshing to have a GP who did know about it and didn't try to BS me (you would be surprised how many other GPs have pretended to know about the condition when it was clear they had never heard of it). Grin

Would say you have one of the good ones. At the surgery itself, not too bad. Again, I've been a patient in much worse places. The one thing that drove me a bit mad about the surgery is the poor parking. Usually no spaces and no nearby alternative. Angry

Thanks for that. I've been to visit Dr Hayton now and he was wonderfully helpful. Phew!

I've moved outside of Cambridge now, but a few years ago was a member of this surgery and would highly recommend it - both for general care and maternity. I was with Dr Flinn and saw him several times. Very easy to get an appointment - for same day, next day, few days time or a call back within a reasonable timeframe.

My current surgery (not this one) you have to ring up at 8am on the dot and the next appointment you'll be able to get is exactly one month from today! Ridiculous!
