Places to entertain a 4yo and a 1yo?

Hello,

We're planning a family day out in London, for a Saturday morning and lunch-time event. Then...? Can anyone suggest good places to go with a 4yo and a 1yo within a mile or so of Liverpool St. Station? (Happy to take underground to anything good, further afield but if there's something within walking distance, all the better).

I'm wondering about parks, soft play, keeping it simple for that age group.

Thank you Smile

So you have the afternoon free? The Sky Garden is really near Liverpool St so you could book (free) tickets for that though it sounds like you just really want some running around space for the children? Victoria Park's lovely . You can get the tube to Bethnal Green or Mile End and walk from there or get a bus all the way. Or the Olympic Park? Or a bus to Hackney City Farm. Or Coram's Fields is nice.

Thank you and yes, 2-3 hours to fill after lunch, by when we'll all have been sitting down for quite a while, so some running around would be good. Park recommendations are really helpful - and anything else child-friendly (all my ideas about the area are too 'grown up' for this visit).

Finsbury Circus Garden is very close to Liverpool street, if you want them to stretch their legs. Spitalfields Market, which is covered, could be a good/informal place to eat.

There's also the V&A Museum of Childhood, which is in between Liverpool Street and Victoria Park and is great for all ages, with an indoor 'picnic area', should you want to pack sandwiches:
