Can anyone give me sine advice, does anybody live in Newhaven that can give me an idea what its like?

I've just been offered a job in Hailsham. Can anyone advise where's a good place to live in East Sussex. What's Newhaven like? I don't have a huge budget (sadly).

Newhaven is pretty grim although it has recently received a big injection of cash to improve facilities and infrastructure.

Better places might be Seaford, Eastbourne or Polegate (if you are happy in an area with hundreds of newbuilds eating up the countryside Sad)

PS Storrington is nowhere near Newhaven. You might have more luck getting this moved to the local/Hailsham forum

I was born in Newhaven, it has some negatives like most towns.
The senior school has just achieved good at ofsted.
The primary schools are pretty good.
My 12 year old is excelling at school.
It has a good sense of community and really came together over COVID.
It has a train station.
Buses to Eastbourne and Brighton are every 10 mins.
Plenty of variety of kids clubs, swimming pool etc.
The town centre needs work but has recently had a cash injection.
I have friends that have moved here and think it’s great.
