Moving to Dorset

Hi

We are looking to move to Dorset within the next year. My husband is securing a job in Poole but we won't be able to afford to live there. Can't anyone recommend a good village/town within 40-50 mins of Poole?

Many thanks

lots of them! Depends if you want to be near the sea or not, what transport links you need and where abouts in Poole. Also i guess the sort of house you want and what price range?
is he going to be working central poole? Do you need good rail/bus links?
Wimborne, Lytchett Minster, Broadstone and Ashley Cross are all lovely - but expensive!
Corfe Mullen is a lovely area north of poole which is more affordable.
Near the town centre you have Parkstone, Creekmoor, and Oakdale which are all nice areas and more affordable. Poole centre itself has some nice housing areas (some dodgy ones too though!)
Going West you have Wareham, Blandford, and Sturminster Marshall (NW) which are all more in the countryside. Wareham has a train station that is on the Weymouth to London line.
Going East you have all the Bournemouth suburbs and ferndown / Ringwood - but the commute across Bournemouth to Poole can be absolute hell (i currently do Poole to Bmth and the commute can take up to an hour although is only 10 miles!)
