Hello Everyone

If you’re a mum in Burton-upon-Trent you have a once in a lifetime opportunity to influence the design of the first secondary school to be built in the town for over 25 years.

With new houses being built in the town and more children being born, Staffordshire County Council needs to make around 3,500 new secondary school places available in the next 15 years.

The new school will go some way to meeting this challenge and will help to ensure that parents/carers like you have choice in a good local education for your children when you need it.

We’ve started to create plans for the new school, Branston Road High School, to be built on land at Lawn’s Farm near Tatenhill. The new school will see investment of around £25million in the future of local families.

However, before we submit our proposal for planning permission in December we want to hear the views of parents/carers from the Burton area.

Your views at this early stage will help to shape our initial plans for the school and its facilities. You will have another chance to comment as part of the formal planning process.

Visit our web pages to see more details behind the proposal: //www.staffordshire.gov.uk/branstonroadhigh. The initial plans will be published on the site on 30 November. .

You can share your views by:

• attending one of the informal public information drop-in meetings between 4pm and 8pm at:
o Tatenhill Village Hall on Monday 30 November
o Rykneld Primary School on Tuesday 1 December
• completing this form.
• emailing the Project Manager, Chris Nightingale.
Your comments must reach us no later than midnight on Friday 4th December please.

Thank you.

Sarah
