Until we can get the meet ups working properly, looking for info from you all!

I thought a mix of day/ evening meet ups. Children fine at the day times and evening outings for grown ups only [ smile]

So, wher do you want to go? What do you want to do?

Give me your ideas and I will organise.

My ideas include a shopping trip to York, Durham Christmas market, midday walk and pub lunch, Gala Theatre. All ideas welcome!

Is this a separate group to the usual Durham MN meet up group?

Report
Toooldtobearsed · 25/08/2015 20:32

It is NCT, not in competition, plenty of room up here for us allGrin

I think they meet whenever they can, this will be a little more structured, roughly once a month ( or more if sometching is happening), all around the area, and different types of meet ups.

Hooray!

And thank you - your thread pushed me into actually getting my arse in gear and not waiting for someone else to do it!

Ooh my name has changed to my local MN name. I quite like that so I can still be anonymous on the boards (not that it would take a genius to figure out who I am)

Im happy to meet up when I can (though due to working FT and living a bit further away it might not be that often)

My approach to the christmas festival tends to be to race in on the first bus after school drop off (as much racing as traffic through Gilesgate will allow), wander around the cloisters in search of ham and Ouseburn coffee (no ham last year, sob - ended up with a truly crap M&S one. Also didn't get to talk to the tall guy from OCC with the gorgeous voice) and then leg it home before the crowds make me scream.

I di the "craft" tent when it was free one year and ended up stressed as hell and wishing I hadn't bothered. Also think that finding enough space for a group of people to have elevenses would be a tall order - everything is always pretty rammed.

And it always manages to be the first truly cold weekend of the year!

GALA THEATRE DURHAM (with a quick gin or three afterwards)!

Pocket Merchant
Propeller Theatre Company

Tickets £6

Thursday 22 Oct, 7:30pm
Pocket Merchant brings one of Shakespeare’s darkest plays to the stage using the Propeller’s unique revelatory style. Under the direction of Edward Hall, the company’s all-male cast brings Shakespeare’s text to life with its invigorating, engaging and often funny approach to the The Merchant of Venice. Pocket Merchant is an inspiring introduction not only to Shakespeare, but also to the very best of English theatre. After a gripping hour you are invited into the performance space to question the actors about the play, acting, Shakespeare, in fact anything that comes to mind.

Interested? PM me please

I'm watching with interest but daren't commit so far in advance. I have days when I feel ready to take on the world, and days when I can barely open my eyes to tell the world to go away, so forward planning is hard for me.
I would LOVE to meet up with people at some point, I just can't promise to be in a particular place at a particular time.
If anyone fancies a day out in Sunny Hartlepool I could organise it though - we have Pirates at the Historic Quay and it's lovely for the littles too, and all in one spot for "doing stuff" and having food/coffee/cake etc and there's even a pub nearby for gin Grin
I have done internet meetups before here in town and we've always had a lovely time Grin

Hi Karen,
No - you posted in the right place, it was just missed Smile

I think we need to arrange a meet up - ideas anyone?

Should we try an adults only meet to start with? Maybe a pub meal, or I could see what is coming up at the Gala in Durham?

Karen, whereabouts are you? We seem to be scattered far and wide, so finding an easy to get to location may be a challenge!
