Surprise 40th Party venue?

Hi,

I'm looking to throw a surpsise party for my husband for his 40th Shock.

Ideally I'd like somewhere we can have kids in the afternoon, but can then extend into the evening for a more grown up party (booze, dancing etc). I'm open to all ideas really - from pubs to local halls and whilst I can find venues which will do the daytime/kids part or evening/adult part, it's proving difficult to find somewhere that will do both

Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any help

M

Have you thought about Jacksons Lane, Studio One is a gorgeous space. You could tell him that you have bought tickets to 'whatever production they have on' and then - surprise!
I know it is used for parties and weddings, so kids time and adults time should be fine.

Hi Margorah,

If you are still looking, there are quite a few ideas in our Adult Party Venue section. local.mumsnet.com/islington/parties-for-grownups-venues

Hope it all goes well.

Recently went to a family do at Jacksons Lane and it was amazing. If you are looking for that 'somewhere special', this place is perfect.

Found a listing of the venue.

The newly refurbished Lauderdale House at Waterlow park is totally gorgeous. Way nicer than Jackson's Lane because it is light. Also the Drapers in Barnsbury is always good. Also I know it's Soho but I recently went to a great party at the Light Bar in Soho - closed to the public for the party but it was an evening jolly and very competitively priced.
