Possible move to East Devon

Hi we are thinking about moving to East Dorset or the New Forest in a couple of years and wondered if I could pick your brains of possible towns/villages to live in. We would like a large village or small town but our daughter would be looking to go to college by then so could you also tell me where there are good colleges - not sure what course she would be looking to do yet. We like an outdoor lifestyle and eating out in good pubs. Any info would be great. Thanks
