Hi I'm new to chester and don't know the area well and I'm struggling to find any mother and baby groups in Upton where I live.
My baby desperately needs to be around other babies and all my friends live miles away.
Thanks in advance

Hi there and welcome to the boards, thanks for your post and congrats on the new baby! I've put some links here that might be of use, also have you asked your midwife/GP for any details because they should have some info. I will also tweet and Facebook asking for details from the social media side! Sometimes, as nuts as this sounds, go to a local park and go talk to other Mums with babies and toddlers, most would be willing to have a chat and let you know about local stuff, just go say "Hi wondering if I could ask you a question as I am new to the area" I did this when I first moved to Cheshire and felt like a nutter but it worked and I got lots of local info. Keep us posted on how you get on.

Thanks so much. I'll take him to Kingsway tomorrow to get him weighed instead of where I normally take him. I also see if they have anymore info

Hi, welcome to Chester...

Mums in the know website is really good for finding out what's on and also join the group new mums of Chester on facebook which is really friendly. I actually run a great baby/toddler class but is in Mickle Trafford not Upton. We are planning on setting up more classes in the Hoole and Upton area in September. We have a facebook page called Laughter Tots, if you 'like' us we'll update you as and when we start classes in your area. For the time being I'd definitely post a similar message to the one you have here on the new mums of Chester facebook group.

Good luck. xx

I agree that checking with your HV is the way to go.
There used to be a Baby & toddler group at St Columba's church hall , is that near you?

Hi yes it's not too far away. I've found a couple near me now to take my little one to.

Hi all, I wonder whether one of you lovely mums could help me? I've recently relocated to the Chester area & my 4 year old will be starting at Mickle Trafford Primary School this September. However, after only being in the area for a couple of months and being a single parent, I am really struggling to find childcare before school. I am able to enrol him in a breakfast club from 8am but I really need someone who would be able to look after him from 7.30am and then drop him off at the school. Anyone have any contacts/recommendations or suggestions please? Smile
