LOCAL SCHOOL IS NAMED AS FINALIST IN A NATIONAL CAMPAIGN - NOW THEY NEED YOUR VOTE TO WIN!

Stoneydown Park Primary School (E17 Walthamstow) has been shortlisted for a national competition organised by Friends of the Earth to win £15,000 worth of solar panels for the school.

Friends of the Earth's Run on Sun campaign is aimed at making it easier for more schools to run on clean solar energy and help schools save on their electricity bill. Schools that have solar panels can save up to £8,000 a year, and it's a great educational opportunity and source of pride for the whole school community, as well as helping the environment.

Stoneydown is an environment friendly community school, who are trying to make a difference in our area. They believe that our local environment is precious and actively seek to protect, enhance and learn from it.

Their shortlisted video features a song (Beautiful Flowers) the children wrote with the help of Musiko Musika, plans for solar powered inventions year 3-6 pupils designed, and pebble art created by the school's eco art club.

Now all they need is your vote to win the competition!

The voting closes on 10 February.

Please help a local school win!
