Hi all,

My names Cenn, dad to a rambunctious two year old and looking to meet likeminded parents and find out about playgroups in the local area. I don't have many mates with kids of a similar age so looking for a bit of help finding something fun for me and the little one to get involved in... Anything musical and/or language based around? I've heard about Harriett's singalong, any thoughts?

I'm also setting up a bilingual mandarin/english nursery school just round the corner from the barbican and am thinking about setting up playgroup myself - a bit of shadow puppetry... some yoga... maybe a bit of kung fu... keeping it creative so that the little one gets the most out of it

Anyway, would be great to hear from you all and maybe see you at a playgroup or two!

Cenn

Hi Cenn.

I'm afraid I can't list any specific playgrounds, but we have a load listed here: local.mumsnet.com/islington/parks-playgrounds. There is a 'See All on Map' option at the top of the page, to find the nearest to you.

Alternatively here is a great site - Parklife, that seems to detail all parks/green spaces in London.

OK great thanks. We were after playgroups rather than playgrounds but I'll have a look through the listings. Hopefully people will offer feedback / recommendations there

Hi Cenn

I have a 20 month old boy who is bilingual French-English. He goes to lots of playgroups with his nanny during the week with his nanny.

I am looking for a mandarin class for his age in the Clerkenwell area so I am interested in the playgroup you want to set up. Let me have your contact details and I can give you a few tips for playgroups!

Nathalie

Hi Cenn,

Sorry for some reason I read it as playgrounds.
Regarding playgroups, if you haven't been along to the Museum of London, I'd recommend a visit. The under 5s groups are great and the staff wonderful.
