Dog poo in Colliers Wood

All of a sudden there have been large dollops of dog poo left on the pavements of Colliers Wood. This is becoming a nightmare as children, and adults, are stepping in it and spreading it everywhere. If you see this person causing this offence, please offer them a bag to pick it up with. I don't have a dog, but I will carry a bag from now on just in case

In all my years I've never seen this happen but it is a particular bugbear of mine. Why the pavements are seen as legitimate places to let your dog do this is beyond me. What's wrong with the side of the road? A local authority or the Mayor should up their game on this via DNA profiling but that would incur a cost and of course no one likes their council tax rate going up. I don't think you will ever stop it as it is down to attitude. I'd vote for any mayor who banned dogs entirely from London apart from Guide Dogs. Needless to say do you ever spot any poo in the richer parts of Merton? Alternatively take money from the Lottery funds to pay for cleaning it up. I don't think we would need a survey to find a correlation between the streets that have lots of litter dropped and streets that have dog poo 'dumped' either.

If you ever do spot who the phantom dog poop droppers of Colliers Wood are, this might be the best form of dirty protest! sorry couldn't resist

And if you need reminding of the reasons why dog poo is such an issue health-wise, particularly for children, this recent missive from Merton Council explains it in a nutshell.
