Hello

I've just moved to Stroud and don't know many people - and no one with kids! My dd is 3. I'm looking to meet other mums for play dates/stomps to the park etc

I've just moved to Stroud too, I don't know anyone here yet either. I'm due with my first in February and could do with getting out aged about and meeting people in the meantime too Smile

Hello! We've just moved to the Stroud area too with 2 little ones (3 and 2). I know this thread's a little old now and you're all practically locals :-) but if you fancy meeting up let me know. Anna

Hi Bananasandnutella, Thanks for your message! We're in North Woodchester. Still getting my bearings. Have made a few expeditions into Stroud and surrounding villages (and got lost a few times too!) How about you? Whereabouts are you?

I am by the co op. I've been here a while and know the area well(ish) as I lived here many years ago. Are your lo at nursery?

Yes - my eldest son is at preschool before starting school in September and youngest starting preschool later in year at which point I'll have time to myself -what a luxury! How about your DS? Is she happily settled at new nursery? I know the Stroud area vaguely as husband grew up here, but now trying to work out where's good to go with little ones. Any recommendations? Been doing the grand tour of lots of play groups.

My dd goes to nursery. Because of her birthday she doesn't start school til next year. She loves it. In terms of things to do, go bananas and cattle country are her favourites. Really need to try slimbridge. I've not been to any baby groups though.

Hello, I know this tread is a bit old now, but I was wondering how it all worked out for those asking advice for the 'big' move and making new friends. I'm looking for some advice with regards to Stroud and what it has to offer for our small family?!

We are thinking of moving from the very lovely fun packed Bristol which we have lived in for 8 years. My husband has worked in Stonehouse for the past 7 years, so are looking to move to Stroud to help with the commute and therefore he can spend more time with our daughter. But it's a big step as my daughter (3.5years) and I know not one person in Stroud...eek. And in Bristol we have built up a nice friendship group from antenatal/mummies groups etc.

If there is anyone that has moved to Stroud resently ish? I would be so very greatful for their thoughts on the area and what there is to do with my little one on our days off as we like and are used to being out and about.

We started house hunting this weekend just gone...

Looking forward to any replies.

Thank you, Lucy.

Hi all,
We lived in Stroud for 4 years, we're moving back to Stroud next year after 3 years away.

I'd love to hear from anybody who would like to meet up one day.

Ps - I used to regularly check out dayoutwiththekids for something to do, or the treasure trails are good for children that can read. Smile
