Where to live <1 hr train to Birmingham?

My DH may be asked to change his work base from London to Birmingham. He will predominately commute to Birmingham with occasional days in London.

We currently live in SW London (Clapham) and are at a bit of a loss where to start a house search as neither of us are from the area.

Where would you live if given the choice? Priorities would be in order: location, amenities, private schools, commute time.

We live in Sutton Coldfield, near Lichfield and Tamworth. There are excellent amenities in terms of libraries, shops, gyms, sports centres. A commute to Birmingham is under an hour by bus, much less by train. There are private and grammar schools and some outstanding state schools in the areas. Feel free to PM if you would like.

Realise this in an old post but the trainline warwick parkway goes to bham and london so all rhe villages round there are good. Few good private schools too. But u have probably figured this out by now, good luck.
