Appealing to all our younger Penguin Enthusiasts!

On Sunday 22nd June ZSL will be staging its first ever Penguin Waddle to raise vital funds for our work with penguins! We are appealing to all children to come with their best penguin moves find their best penguin costume and join us for a fun, sponsored, non-competitive morning waddle within ZSL London Zoo before the zoo opens for the day!

To register for the Penguin Waddle, we require a £5 registration fee on top of the normal ticket price for the day. All Parents, Guardians and friends will need to purchase a normal day tickets to the zoo (usual ZSL member benefits apply). Please click on the link below to purchase all of your tickets now!

Places are limited so we do advise you to sign up as soon as possible.

Key Times

8:30am

Gates open at the ZSL Fast Track entrance (Map will be supplied in the fundraising pack). The main shop and Terrace Restaurant will be open at this time.

9:15am

Penguin Waddle takes place

9:40am

Penguin Waddle finishes (approx.)

9:50am

Presenters present prizes for best dressed penguin and highest fundraiser and short talk on Penguins

10:00am

Penguin Beach opens to the public and you are free to enjoy ZSL London Zoo for the remainder of the day


Fundraising

As a Penguin Waddler, you are pledging to raise a minimum of £15 for ZSL. With Penguin Beach being England’s largest Penguin Pool, you can appreciate how much money this costs to keep our penguins happy all year round and also supporting the conservation of penguins in the wild. With climate change, fisheries, disease and pollution, we are working to understand how these threats affect penguins so that we can lessen the effect they have on penguins in the wild. Therefore any money you are able to raise from this event will go a very long way in supporting our work.

Once you have signed up to the Penguin Waddle, we will send you a fundraising pack with all the bits and pieces to plan you Penguin Waddle. From fundraising tips to a penguin mask to help get your fancy dress underway, we hope we have thought of everything for you to enjoy fundraising for ZSL.

We do encourage every Penguin Guardian to set up an online fundraising page for their children so you can fundraise in a totally secure environment whilst reaching out to family and friends around the world!

Prizes

All children that take part will receive a goodie bag as they finish. We will also be awarding two very special prizes for the best fancy dressed penguin and the highest fundraiser by the date of the event.
