Hi All,
Interested to hear your thoughts on this ....
I just had a parent consultation and am furious. My daughter is in year 1 in a local primary school. She loves to learn and is a good girl who does not present any problems to anybody. In the end of term assessments she scored a very high attainment level in English, maths and science - it was more on a par with a year 2 child. The teachers basically told me that they can challenge her too much further as they are waiting for the rest of her class to catch up. I asked for her to move into year 2 then as she is bored - they say they cant do that. I feel bad for her a she is becoming an invisible child due to the fact that she is doing well and isn't in anybody's face. What are your thoughts on this? I feel like I am letting her down by not fighting her corner but not sure if it is reasonable to push the moving up thing??? Help! Does anyone else have this issue???
