New Year Meet-up

OK - I am organising another meet-up, in collaboration with the South Glasgow and Ayrshire Local ambassadors, and the MN Yarnaholics.

We are going to meet at 10am on wednesday the 15th of January, at the Central Bar on Central station in Glasgow (hopefully that will be convenient for travel for people). If you stand on the concourse, facing M&S, the stairs up to the bars are to the left, and Central Bar is on the left as you are looking at it (though on the right when you get to the top of the stairs).

Some of us will be bringing our knitting or crochet with us, but all you actually need to bring is yourself, and your gossip. To be honest, the woolly hug meet ups involve as much coffee, cake and gossip as they do yarn crafts.

I know that this venue isn't suitable for everyone, and I apologise for that - I will organise a soft-play based meet up next, I promise - maybe towards the end of January?

There's a suggestion that 11am might be better for some people, as it would mean they could get the off-peak fares - what do you all think?

For the moment, the date is the 15th, but the time might change from 10am to 11am.

I'll be working that day unfortunately but hope you get a good turn out. Smile

Just a quick update to say that I have made a mistake - it is Bonapartes we are going to, not the Central bar.

LocalEditor - it is a shame you won't be there - hopefully we will be able to coordinate the next one so you will be able to come!

It's tomorrow!! [excited]

I hope to see lots of people there. I am aiming to get there early (about 9.30) because I will be travelling in with dh, so I should be there before anyone else. I will have a bag full of yarn and needles with me, so I should be easy to spot.

See you there!

Hope you have a lovely time, can't make it again because the baby's first jabs are this morning but will hopefully be free next time.

It was me and prettybird (from South Glasgow) - we had a lovely chat, plenty of coffee, and set the world to rights.

We are wondering about setting another date - Saturday 1st of Feb - possibly at the Tramway (more cake there).

I am aware that some people would like a toddler friendly meet up, so I assume a weekday would be easiest - at soft play at Braehead, maybe?

Glad you had a good chat! At the moment I can do Mondays or Tuesdays with a baby in tow, Wednesdays are a bit tricky as I have to collect my eldest from nursery at lunchtime and any meet on Thursday or Friday would have to accommodate the 3 year old, just off to Braehead soft play now Grin

Baby is fine after her jabs though I'm sure I got filthy looks all afternoon yesterday!
