Best thing about the area is the fact that my parents live there!

best Thing about the Area: the open space, the relative peace and quiet (though some loons are about to build a bloomin great road through my nearest bit of countryside)
best Outside Space: the coast - everything from wide open beaches to soaring cliffs and isolated dunes
Hidden Gem - Pock arts centre? Gets some really good acts, and seems to punch above its weight considering how tiny the town is.
Free attractions - beaches again, I guess, but also the museums in Hull are all free...
Best Day out - for us its usually Burton Agnes Hall - nice place for a picnic, the children can run around for hours and DD1 tells me that it has the best slopes for rolling down.
Best places to live - Beverley? Small enough to be manageable but big enough to have decent shops and eats - and it has the Westwood which keeps one side of the town very green and peaceful.

I'm a bit stuck on the others - best child-free night out in particular as haven't had many of these in the past five years. we usually just stagger along to the pub, then stagger home after an hour cos we're ready for bed!

I live in the East Riding, past Goole and this area get so over looked. My son loves The deep and Hull has lots of other free museums. Bridlington again is brilliant for a day out and we have some fab parks locally.

Best CHILD-FRIENDLY CAFÉ - The Coffee Bean in Pocklington, the Mile End Cafe in Pocklington, Lucias in Beverley all so friendly!

Best CHILD-FREE NIGHT OUT - what's that?

Best OUTSIDE SPACE - Millington Woods or Burnby Hall Gardens

Best HIDDEN GEM - The Buddhist Centre in Kilnwick Percy

Best COMMUNITY VENUES - Pocklington Arts Centre of course!

Best FREE VISITOR ATTRACTIONS - All the Hull museums in the Museums quarter are so good and completely free, you could spend a whole day going round them, plenty of stuff for the kids and adults.

Best DAY OUT - Scarborough or Robin Hoods Bay

Best PLACES TO LIVE - Pocklington Villages

Best PLACES TO SHOP - I love Beverley, just the right size and not as busy as York.
