Moving to Plymouth - advice on primary schools and nice areas to live

Hi, we have just found out we are moving to Plymouth due to jobs and my son is due to start primary school in Sept. He currently has a school place at a school where we currently live but need to find one down in Plymouth now, and hope there is availability (otherwise be put on a waiting list). Can anyone give any advice on which schools to defo avoid and ones that they are happy with for their child/ren. There only seems a handful of schools with availability and so don't know whether to go for a school with a place or hold out for one of the other schools. All the schools in Plympton & Plymstock are full and these were areas we were potentially looking at. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

There are some great schools in Plymouth.... And some rough ones. You are better living outside I would personally say. I'm from Saltash, just across the bridge in Cornwall. 4 good primary's, a good secondary school. Easy commute. Property prices are a little higher, but that's because it's nicer! If you google the PL12 postcode you'll see it was voted the best place in the country to live a few years back....
