I know but thanks for replying! we are working on it as you can see. Are you interested in a meet up? i think its just a case of letting it grow a little bit organically. Im hoping to get some offers to encourage others. Please do keep popping in from time to time though :) hoping there is some others that will be encouraged by seeing this.

I think if we can get a few ladies chatting away then I don't see why I wouldn't be interested in a meet up! I moved to Derbyshire two years ago for an all consuming job so I know no one around here - and I'm on maternity leave so a meet up may be just the thing!

Of course ill keep my eye on the local board, lets hope more people show up!

Then I can for warn the venue of numbers just tell them at the door you are Mumsnet myself and Chucklebutties would like to make it a regular meeting place so if anyone is willing to organise even if its just once a month! they can become ambassador for mumsnet and get lots of free stuff Smile

Maybe in a couple of weeks/months - I'm currently 8 days overdue and waiting to go into labour!! Grin Will definitely be up for it once I'm ready to be up and about, but there's going to be a slight delay.

Maybe we should devise a handshake, OgPog?

I was looking at once a month. But would be asking for someone to add it to meet ups! You will be repaid in Mumsnet freebies! Grin!

Good luck plonko - hope all gets well with the birth :-). I don't know if you already know about it, but there is an nct bumps and babes group In belper community hall (behind the library). It runs on Monday mornings, I think from 10.30-11.30 - it could be a good place for you to meet new mums locally Smile

goes back to working on secret handshake

I'd like to play but am just outside Chesterfield so a bit far away from most of you, perhaps I would be better off trying the Sheffield board!

Ahoy! I am in between Alfreton/Ripley and I've been here a year and found it really hard to make some new friends . I moved here to be with DP and we've been together 18 months, no DCs yet.
I'd love to find some new local friends for the odd gin/nights out/come round for dinner etc.

I'm in Chesterfield too, goodmum123! It'd be good to meet local people as my ante-natal group friends are mostly Sheffield-based and it'd be nice to be able to walk to a meet-up for once.

I'm in Chesterfield and would love to meet up. I moved here 3yrs ago for work too and have no friends / family close, so would love a bit of social life with or without baby!
Due next month so anyone similar would be fab :-)

Well, shall I be brave and suggest a meet-up in August? Even if it turns out only 2 of us can make it, it's a start. How about 10 August at the cafe in Queen's Park, Chesterfield? Lovely ice-cream, nice playground and scope for a walk round the park. Let me know if anyone fancies it. x
