Sutton Coldfield - Advice on which nursery ? Holy Trinity or Boldmere (school) Nursery

Hi

My daughter is currently 2 1/2 and is at Holy Trinity Preschool. She will start nursery in September and I need to decide if she goes to Boldmere School Nursery or stays at Holy Trinity Preschool.

My daughter will ultimately be going to Boldmere Infant School.

Does anyone have/had children at Boldmere School Nursery ? What are your thoughts on the nursery, attainment levels, progress etc ?

Many Thanks

Hi there

Yes, I do! It's great. My DD is 3 and a half, can recognise her letters, numbers, takes part fully in lessons and is completely supported by the teachers.

They have every opprtunity to join in with the school, having PE in the school hall, use the school library, take part in the nativity etc.

They have 2 teachers and 4 TA's.

They are having an open day soon if you want to have a look around. The pre school only do mornings or afternoons though with no wrap around care. However DD will be going to Boldmere infants in September hopefully and it is a great start for her.

Just be aware that it is always oversubscribed so you have to be close to get a place for the school (apologies if you know all that)

Any questions just ask.

Hi

Do you know if children have to be potty trained before starting at boldmere nursery school ?

Struggling with my 2 1/2 yr old at present.

I don't think theycan refuse on those grounds but DD was trained when she started. You have lots of time though, she was only just 2.6 when she managed it and you have a good 6 months yet.

The toilets are in the classroom, but in a private area, and they have a bag each with spare clothes. There were lots of changes to start with but less now they have all got used to it

Hi there yes my 2 dc both attended Boldmere nursery and are now in juniors. I cannot fault the nursery or the school. They both seem to love it there. All through the classes they have had lots and lots of fun, that is the marvellous thing about Boldmere their ethos is that learning should be fun. Both my dc have thrived in the environment and I would not hesitate to recommend the nursery particularly if your dc will be attending the school. My dc have very close friends made in nursery. Hth
