Hello I'm new to this site and hoping you might be able to help me out of a small crisis. I'm looking for part time care for my 9 month old daughter next January and wonder if anyone can recommend a childminder in the Leytonstone/Woodford area? The problem is I've left this til the last minute as, being a freelance journalist, I hoped to combine working from home and looking after my little one. In reality this isn't going to work. I've also left it too late to get her into a nursery. Because of the nature of my job, I may need extra days/hours of care. Is it going to be a big ask to expect this level of flexibility? What's the etiquette ? Please can anyone give me any tips, I'm in a bit of a pickle.
Thanks!

No personal recommendations I'm afraid as we're not long moved to the area ourselves. Have you tried asking in one of the children's centres?
I see a couple of really lovely cm's in our local one (Barclay road) and apparently the staff there can help with finding childcare.

Hello,
I am a Childminder in South Woodford.......most childminders only work 8am-6pm Monday-Friday but you sometimes find exceptions (childminders offering overnight care, weekends, etc) but you would usually pay a premium for that (usually double time/time and a half if you're lucky!) Usually you sign a contract for a certain set of days each week and that's it.....although you may be lucky and find a Childminder who has vacancies so may be able to offer you additional days at certain times, but it wouldn't be guaranteed.

Hello,

Not sure if you would be interested but Treehouse nursery at Wanstead is opening new nursery this month. It will be located like next door to the current one.

Hope this helps.
