Welcome to the revamped Mumsnet Local Haringey site! We really hope you like it and find it much easier to use.
As you can see, local talk is finally up and running, so now we can all natter to our hearts content.

You may have spotted that there are a few other parts of the site that need ironing out, but rest assured that the lovely tech team are on it.

So, introductions - we are your local editors (jumpinfish & inreallife) and we are here to fill the site with loads of great info, ? but any help from you guys would be great. Give your opinion, add any local hot tips, venues, things to do... We want to make this site the place to go for anything and everything that?s happening in the borough.

Just a few pointers - anyone can add a listing by clicking the pink Add a Listing button, and having a local name means you can rant away on the main site without anyone knowing who you are when you come back home.

We?re also on Facebook and Twitter, so do like and follow us and we will post and tweet whenever anything interesting is going on. And there's a simplified version of this site for smart phones - very handy when you're on the go.

This site is for all us local mums (and dads), so do let us know what info works for you.

Bye for now. X

HI Mum's Net- Well done for your constructive work campaigning & raising awareness of children's needs! Please can you use this opportunity re Marcus Rashford to raise awareness of the need for FREE SCHOOL meals for children aged 2-4?

Please can you use this opportunity flaggedby Marcus to raise awareness of the need for FREE School meals for children aged 2-4?

This is the most critical time in a child's life and especially those living on benefits in free Early Learning for 2 & 3 year olds.

There is NO provision for FSMs for children who are under statutory school age and prior to Reception. Thisincludedchildren in Early Learning for 2-3 year olds.
The DfE said recently that there was no provision and parents had to gain food through Food Banks!

Inner City and other ares experiencing high rates of child poverty, suchas Haringey are especially concerned about this with C19 causing rising poverty & thousands more on Universal Credit.

Also we need to raise the suggestion that Child Benefit needs to be increased in the school holidays, particularly for those on benefits.

Please could you urgently raise questions to MP's and other organisations on this issue & aim to use the current FSMs momentum to gain support for this especially vulnerable group of children?

We know from all the reports in the last 10 years & the Marmot Review 10 Years on, that early years is the most important time in children's development, the most effective use of investment and will have a beneficial impact across children's life-course.
THANKS
