You probably all know the drill already! DH, DS (9 months) and I moved to Marple a few weeks ago and I was wondering if anyone could recommend any baby and mum groups (or other ways to meet other mums). So far I really like Marple and it would be great to make some local friends.

Hi I live in marple bridge and recently just had another dd. 8 weeks. Have lived here 4 years and know mainly mums with 3 year olds so would be great to meet other mums with tiny ones- how did you get on finding groups ?

I grew up in Marple but I'm across the other side of Stockport now so I don't know about groups and things but Rough and Tumble at Goyt Mill is a nice soft play centre with a little cafe.

I bet they have information about local groups in there too. Have you tried asking at your local Surestart/children's centre?

Hi there, it's not a mum and baby group per se but if it's other families you'd like to meet, there's a fun day on Sat 16th at 2pm i think at stella maris school in heaton mersey - sure there'll be lots of mums, dads and fellow playmates for your little 'un to meet..

Hi i'm a Marple Bridge Mummy to a 2 and a half year old. There really is loads of groups that we've been too - so i'll do you a low down!
Monday - Mums and tots at Highlane community centre
Tuesday - Mums and tots 10am at the church on church lane, but i go to Seedlings at Hazel Grove Baptist Church (just opposite Hazel Grove train station) starts at 1.15pm, only cost £1 and it's really brill!
We've also been to Rythm time at Mellor parish centre on Tuesday mornings.
Wednesday - there's a really nice music class at the library
Thursday - think it's mellor mums and tots at the parish centre
Friday - Brabyns play group.

Go up to Marple library - there is loads of information up there, on the table as you walk in in the childrens section. There are also free magazines (Little Tigers) that have listings of whats on and when which is useful.

Hope that's helpful - try stockport info link website too - they have listings of groups i think.
