Finding childcare for a 4yr old?

We're thinking of applying to Heritage school for our DS, for entry in the 2013 Reception class. The children in Reception don't attend in the afternoons on Mon/Wed/Fri, and in Year 1 they don't attend on one afternoon a week, so I'm going to be looking for a childminder to cover those afternoons and also some wrap-around care (DH and I work full time, and no local grandparents to ask).

Can anyone point me in the direction of a list of childminders? I'm sure there used to be one where you could search for childcare by postcode but I can't find the website now - it's been over 2 years since I last used it, perhaps it has been taken offline.

If anyone has, or knows anyone with children at Heritage school, how have you or they coped with the half days? It can't only be a school for families with one SAHP can it?

Opportunity Links was the place that used to have all the childcare on.... hooray, I'm past that stage grin Have a look though!

That's the one I was trying to remember. Thank you!

@frazzled09, we are hoping to send our DD to the Heritage in 2013 and also have the same issue with regards to the 3 afternoons and the childcare aspects because we both work. Perhaps some of the parents can arrange to jointly share a Childminder?

Heard great things about the Heritage, but have you considered an alternative? The Phoenix School Cambridge is equally as good (excellent reputation - was St Colettes) and has full days and therefore no childcare issues! Also run a teacher escorted taxi from centre of Cambs to suit parents so no worries about rushing to and fro unless you want to and a very personalised education offered.
