Hi,
My family moved over from Dublin to Ilford in September, and I have been trying to find a school place for my 4 yr old girl (whos 5 in May), but have been told that there is no school place for her age group in the whole of redbridge. I been going there every month to see whether the situation has changed but been told the same thing. I would really like to know if anyone else has experienced this and if you have any advice on what to do would be really appreciated. I really dont want my child to suffer education wise when she starts in school in September.

Thanks in advance

Redbridge LA hates home-educators. You could register your child and say you are home-educating and then they will find you a place. I am not kidding either, happened to someone I know....

Hi

We moved from Edinburgh to London since my husband job got transferred. We had applied to the LA in Redbridge listing our school choices. Our house is very near to the 2 choices we had listed. They have placed my daughters admission on the waiting list .The letter says that the waiting list change and they would write to us once my daughters names comes to be top of the waiting list. The letter also says that they cant take more than 30 pupils per class and that appeals may not be granted even if we have an option to do so.There is no clear indication of whether admissions would be granted. We are very concerned since we dont want our daughters education to get affected. Can we get advice on what would be best way forward?

Most of the schools in Redbridge have waiting lists.
You could just write to the person concerned and ask which schools have vacancies at the moment and then place your children there while you wait for places at your preferred school, I think you can do that....
