Mums to be in Bridgend/Porthcawl area?

Hi All, I'm due in June and have been looking at the NCT antenatal classes (mainly as a way to meet other mums to be!) but the nearest seems to be Pontyclun... does anyone know of any that are any closer? Or are there any other new/soon-to-be mums in the area that would like a get-together?

I'm actually in Porthcawl by the way, but meeting people in Bridgend would be close enough...!

Hi!

I'm also due in June and have been looking at the NCT classes in pontyclun.

I'm living in Bridgend (near McArthur Glen) but was thinking I would go as it's not too far from my parents. I've also enquired about the breath and stretch (I think antenatal yoga?) classes on a tuesday there and will think about that in March.

I was told by my SIL that there was an NCT in Cowbridge but when I searched there didn't appear to be one.

Are you on the June thread in the antenatal section? If not have a look, theres a nice bunch of ladies on there to chat too!

Xx

The Pontyclun classes are run by the NCT Vale and Valleys branch which covers Cowbridge / Bridgend / Barry / Valleys, so you should get to meet people from a range of areas.

The branch also runs 4 Nearly New Sales a year, one in Barry, one in Cowbridge, one in Merthyr and one in Bridgend.

Hi ladies.

I'm in Bridgend and have a seven week old baby girl.

I couldn't afford the NCT classes (or couldn't justify the expense anyway) and found the NHS antenatal class useless from a social aspect.

I did however go to pregnancy yoga with a lady called emma. Classes are in Litchard infants school on a thursday evening - though she runs classes elsewhere. I met some lovely ladies there - one of whom had her baby 10 days after me and we've become really good friends - as have our husbands. It was a relly good way to meet other mums and felt everyone was there for the same reason - to meet people - though the things I learnt from the yoga were a welcome bonus! (Definately helped with the labour!)

She also runs baby yoga classes - which I'm starting tomorrow - and can't wait!

PureYoga

Good luck with your pregnancies!

Thanks for the information!
I may well go to the litchard yoga class as it is much closer to home!

Thank you Stace! I'm thinking I'll prob head over to Pontyclun anyway - if everyone else from the area is going there we're bound to meet people who live relatively close! I found Bridgend Rec do Aquanatal and Antental Yoga but they're both on a Weds morning which is when I work! May have to swap some days around I think.

Milly, I'm on the June thread but don't check back in regularly enough to be able to keep up with half of the conversations going on there! Then I feel bad for not keeping up with everyone's good/bad news and so don't post at all!

We're going to book into the NCT in pontyclun and I'm going to go to the Litchard school yoga classes as it seems silly driving all the way to pontyclun when it's on my doorstep - plus I'm thinking it will gove me more of a change of meeting more ladies due around the same time? xx

Hello All, I also went to the Pregnancy Yoga classes run by PureYoga (Emma). The classes were great - definitely helped with the early labour for me - and everyone who went were really friendly. I would love to meet up with new mums in the Bridgend/Porthcawl area (my little boy is 8 weeks old now).

Hi everyone, I'm also in Bridgend and highly recommend PureYoga, I went to Emma's Bridgend Rec classes and they were lovely, so relaxing! My little boy is nineteen weeks old now and I also have an older son who is 2.

A few questions from a fellow native, how far along should you be to go to these classes, I'm only 16 weeks but desperate to get out and doing things!

Hi JenJen, I think that you can start from 16 weeks with Emma, I had my first class last week and it had a range from 16-40 weeks! Maybe see you there! xx

I'm moving back to Kenfig hill within the next fortnight and am looking for some prenatal classes of any kind.
