Bledlow Ridge and Nearby - Any advice?

Hello

We are in the process of buying a house in Bledlow Ridge as it seems such a nice place and the primary school is so good. I was just looking for advice and reassurance really from anyone who lives locally?

I have an 18 month old boy. Is this a good place to bring up small children? Is there much to do for children? Is it easy to meet people?

I have always lived in towns before so was just hoping for some advice about how nice it is to live in a more rural village?

Thanks so much in advance.

Karen

Hi,

I moved to Princes Risborough about 3yrs ago from London and I have to say, having a child helps you adapt to rural life a lot easier - my daughter is two and a half.

I'm not sure about groups that happen in Bledlow, but in Princes Risborough there are lots of baby/toddler groups. I go to one at the baptist church (or it might be the methodist church - I can't remember!) on a Monday morning. It costs 50p and the hall is rammed with toys, you can have a cup of coffee and they have a singing session at the end. There are other groups at the library and at a child centre by the primary school. There is also a huge indoor play area in Thame called Whizz Kids which my little girl loves. The swings in Bledlow Ridge are also very good - it has a great sandpit and zip slide. There are good swiming pools in Risborough, Thame and Aylesbury (not sure what the pool in Wycombe is like).

In essence, there is lots to do for children. You are also perfectly placed in Bledlow to go for walks in the woods.

I've just read back what I have written and it is quite a glowing endorsement for the area!
