Are you a new kid on the block & keen to start/join a regular coffee group?

Hi all. We've just relocated here from Auckland and I am officially a 'Billy no mates'!
So, if you're keen to join a regular coffee group (weekly or fortnightly) that would meet at each others homes, markets, cafes, Kelvingrove Art Gallery or outside when its sunny then get in touch.
We have a one year old girl and I am a full time Mommy. I'm easy going & down to earth and my pals in NZ are all great (Czech, Croatian, Kiwi, English, Irish, single, married, working - you get the idea) - we kept each other real over the madness of motherhood!
We're going to be living in Lochwinnoch, but I'll be in the West End atleast once a week for my city dose.
Okidoki - hopefully I'll hear from someone as I need to discuss why my beautiful child has turned into a shouting banshee!
If you see this months after it was posted then still get in touch.
You can check my profile if you want to know a bit more about me...and you're really bored ;-)

I hope you'll get some more feedback but keep an eye out for some Mumsnet Glasgow meet-ups - we're not very good at getting organised and reaching the critical momentum for a meet-up but we'll probably manage to achieve one over the summer holidays (which reminds me: I should start a thread......)

My ds is 10 and I live on the South Side.

I actually lived for a couple of years in NZ when I was a teenager (a looooooong time ago WinkBlush) when my parents emigrated there - but we emigrated back again after 2 years (the 3rd emigration: the first being from SA when I was a toddler) - so I have some inkling as to what it is like to be BillyNoMates. Well done you for posting this!

I would be more than welcome to host a meet up at my shop - I can make sure we have some art supplies out for the kiddies if there's a group of you too :)

I'd be up for it Smile

I have a one year old too and am going slightly insane! I'm in the west end, near the museum, which is great but really you can only go and look at a stuffed elephant so many times Grin

Lord, you can tell I was half asleep when I posted that. Either I would be more than happy to host, or you would be more than welcome to host. I does speak English, honest!

Hello all. Thanks for the responses. We are about to move into temporary accomodation prior to moving into our long term rental on July 1st, so I will organise something as soon as I can after that.
@ Prettybird-I will definitely keep an eye out for the get togethers-thanks!
@ Blottedcopybook-I will be in touch to find out more & to set up something...& we got what you meant :-)
@ RockThePots-I had to laugh at your elephant comment, I've only been twice and I can see how the novelty could wear thin!
Cheers everyone...

I'm always up for a meet-up - though my dses are all at school (14, 16 and nearly 18) so wouldn't be needing the art materials - lol!

The Burrell Collection, in Pollock park, is a wonderful place to meet - it has a good cafe, and it's a fascinating place just to wander round - he collected such a wide variety of artifacts and art that there is something for everyone. If you'd like to meet up there, either as a group, or just for a 1-2-1 meeting, to get out of the house and meet someone new, I'd love to meet you there (or somewhere else).

Hi ladies!

I would love a meetup too! I live in the Southside with a 1 year old dd!
Love to exchange banshee stories!

Have you seen the meet-up being organised for this Thursday over here? At Litecraft on Great Western Road, time (I think) after 12.30.

I haven't decided yet if I'll be bringing ds (who's 10) or if I've managed to find someone to offload him onto out if there is a friend he want to go and play with. I'll be coming from the Southside but may decide to cycle over to get some exercise.

Hi ladies. I would love to meet up. I recently moved to Glasgow from Aberdeen. I have a son (4) and am stopping work next month in preparation for a new arrival in November. Would be great to get to know some other mums. I'm in Bearsden, so West End is great for me!
