I'm going to see Take That tonight and really really don't want to get stuck for hours trying to get out of an NCP at the end. I went to a gig there years ago and we just parked a 10 minute walk away on the other side of the river and walked in. We were planning on doing the same thing but I've just wondered whether all those areas are now resident's parking only? Has anyone please got any thoughts on where we could park?

Thanks ever so much :)

Don't know if it will be open, but there is a charity car park just behind City Hall in Cardiff. The entrance is on the A470, opposite the castle. I've seen it open on international days. You should be able to get straight out onto the A470 and ahead of the traffic heading towards the A48/M4.

An alternative might be to get a train in. A number of stations have parking and you can then jump on a train. For example, there is a large car park at Radyr station and the train takes 10 minutes to Cardiff Central. You can then avoid the traffic jam getting out of Cardiff.

Good luck & enjoy the concert. I'm looking forward to it!!Grin

Last time we went to a gig there, we parked in the residential area around Adamsdown (some bits are resident parking but not all) e.g. near the old Royal infirmary. It's quite a long walk in, but if you don't mind a walk would probably be quicker than the queue out of car parks / town. Not sure where you are coming from, but if like us it is East of cardiff, you can then go through back streets to get onto the 'docks road' out of town (Ocean Way then Rover way), whihc is always quiet, compared to Newport road which won;t be. probably not such an ideal place to park if you are going north or west though as you would have to drive through town to get out.

We're coming from Bristol so will be going West, but was thinking of coming out afterwards up Cathedral Rd onto the A48? As we're going to be arriving in rush hour, guess we might come down as far as Cowbridge Rd and then work our way out? Kind of agree about risking a ticket in resident's parking though if that's the only option? There are 4 of us so we can split the depressing bit?!

Morning, Just wanted to say thanks; we parked just off Cathedral Rd with no trouble at all and the gig was great (although I definitely like their old stuff more than their new ones, it's just a sad attempt to relive my youth...)
