Hi
I'm looking for a recommendation on any good childminders in or around the HD2 area.
Thanks

Hi, I don't know any myself, but when I asked my local Surestart children's centre they said there is a list of "affiliated" childminders and nurseries, who are the ones that work closely with the childrens centre staff. Your local centre will have a copy of the list that you can have. Not many are on the affiliated list, and they do seem to be the more "in-demand" ones so although not a personal recommendation, could be a good place to start.

I also got a full list of all childminders etc. in Huddersfield from the family information service kirklees. Tel: 01484 414887 and they will send it to you.

Good luck.

Thanks for the info, I will do that. I am absolutely livid with our nursery. We provide water in a bottle for my girl every day. Today, my husband forgot and for some reason they put another child's used MILK bottle from yesterday into our bag and had been using it all day to give my girl water. Not only did they not wash the bottle (it has dried milk stains in it), but they put tap water in it. I am so angry I can't tell you. Here we are sterilising everything and they're trying to give her food poisoning. Rant over...thanks again.

Oh my goodness! That is terrible. Our little boy is due to start nursery in just over 3 weeks time and that's the sort of thing I worry about. No matter how much you vet these places I'm sure they don't look after them like we do. Mind you, using a dirty bottle like that is just appauling. Do you mind me asking where your little girl goes? Or if you'd rather not say please just tell me it's not Greyfell Academy because that's where our little boy is due to start. I can see why you are looking at a Childminder.

It's not Greyfell Academy! Good luck, it's a flippin nightmare, never mind the guilt of it all.
