Hi there,

We have just moved to Brighton with our 1 year old daughter. I am not working at the moment and don't know anyone in the area so I am really keen to get out and meet others as soon as possible. Playdates, coffee, walks, glass of wine? Or perhaps there are already organised groups in the area?

I hope to meet some of you soon!

Tiffany

Hi Tiffany

My family and I moved to Hove 6 months ago and we're loving it! We moved from the Midlands. Where have you moved from?

My kids are a bit older, a boy who's 4 and a girl who's 7 but I just wanted to say you won't regret moving here - it's great!

I'm not sure what groups are in your area but there's a really good website - childfriendlybrighton.co.uk that's got some good info on.

I'm always happy to meet up for coffee, wine whatever. My son is at nursery until 12 every day and if it's nice, we like to go to different parks, seafront etc for some fresh air.

Take care, Laura x

I'm near Preston Park and my kids are a similar age to internetaddict's so I'm not really around during the day. However, I am extrememly happy to meet up in the evening for wine!

Hi Tiffany, I live near Preston Park & have a 1 year old (& 4 year old) so if you fancy meeting up one day PM me.
There are a few playgroups in the area - haven't been to them all but Mon mornings there's one just started at Fiveways childrens centre on florence Rd, Tues morning there's one in a church on Southdown Avenue, Weds 1.45-3 (I think) there's one on Stanford Avenue in the church, Thurs 9.45-11.30 there's one in St Matthias church on Ditchling Rd.
Hope that helps

Hi lucjam. I've been wondering whether to take my DS who is 4 to that playgroup you've mentioned. I wasn't sure whether it would be too babyish for him but you've got a DS the same age. Is there plenty for that age group?

Hi everyone! Thanks so much for the messages and information regarding current playgroups, etc. I will definitely plan to get to some next week.

Sorry for the long delay in responding. We just moved in last Friday and I didn't factor in a week long wait for our BB service from BT!!! At any rate, we are now in our house and fully connected. It sounds like there are a few of us in PP area who would like to meet up. I am completely new to the area, we just moved from Paris (but I am Canadian / British) so I don't know where to meet in the area but think there a couple nice pubs? I agree with 'theguiltyone' that there's no point in wasting anytime so what about one night next week? I will also send PM's to ensure you get the message (it took me a while to find my original post :-)).
