see below for details of our new local maternity meetings. Your chance to come and share your experiences with local hospital management and PCTs and help influence local maternity policy. Lunch and creche provided. We'd love to see you and your baby there.


Dear parents. friends and everyone with an interest in Maternity Matters,

I would like to wish you and your families a very happy New Year and hope you will be able to come along to one of the maternity meetings that will be happening in an area near you in January.

The North Central London Maternity Services Liaison Committee is inviting all women and their families who have given birth under the care of UCLH, Royal Free, Whittington, Barnet and Chase Farm, and North Middlesex hospitals to get together in a friendly meeting (lunch and creche available) to talk to heads of midwifery and health professionals about the maternity care they received: what's working well and what needs to be improved. Everyone with an interest and/or experience in maternity care is welcome.

Here are the dates and venues for the meetings in January. These local meetings are centred around each individual hospital but if you gave birth at one hospital and cannot make that meeting you are still very welcome to attend a different meeting and know that your views will be fed back in a direct way.


The UCLH meeting will be on Thursday 13th January 12 - 2pm at 1a Children's Centre, 1a Rosebery Avenue, City of London EC1R 4SR

The Royal Free meeting will be on Friday 21st January 12.30-2.30pm at Harmood Children's Centre, 1 Forge Place, London NW1 8DQ

The Whittington meeting will be on Wednesday 19th January 12.30 ? 2.30pm at Archway Children's Centre, Vorley Rd, London N19 5HE

The North Middlesex will be on Friday 28th January 12.30 - 2.30pm at Triangle Children's Centre, 91 ? 93 St Ann?s Road, South Tottenham, London N15 6NU

The Barnet and Chase Farm meeting will be on Wednesday 26th January 12 - 2pm at Underhill Children's Centre, Underhill Infants School, Mays Lane, Barnet, London EN5 2LZ

I do hope you will be able to come along. Please bring receipts from travel expenses to get to the meeting with you and we will pay you back. Also if you would like to use the crèche, please book in advance: tel 0203 317 2692 or email [email protected] so there are enough creche workers to meet demand.
