Just checking guys are still alive over there.

This heatwave is freakin' crazy and I am well over it. I'm in Melb which has been slightly cooler only low 30c's.

Keeping the kids out of the sun and heat is boring me now. If this is a sign of what is to come for the rest of summer I may just cry.... DC3 is due in Feb!!

I hope you all have air con!!

I was just about to post this! In Adelaide (only been here 3 months so this is a taste of things to come....!!) and we are toasting but doing ok really. Off to outdoor pool as soon as DH home so not all bad really. Poor you being pg in this though! Good excuse to eat your body weight in ice cream i'd say.

Christmas pageant tomorrow and DS2 singing in the choir, first song is Jingle Bells, 'Dashing through the snow...' YEAH RIGHT, it's freaking 39 degrees!

Stay cool. I haven't opened the curtains for a week now, we left Scotland because it was permanently dark and we never opened the curtains! Same issue, slightly different problem here.

DS1 & DS2 haven't been able to get out to play at school which is the main problem for them. They were shown the film Ice Age at break instead yesterday, teachers being ironic perhaps??

Yes, well & truly melted!

This weekend is (apparently) due to top 40o, which will be lovely

It is the Christmas Pageant on Saturday, be interesting to see how many daft people go to that! We'll watch it on TV & go to the smaller local one next weekend!

Air con on max, pool (kiddies) filled & ready for action one the shade comes over!

Rom, open curtains & windows around 7ish am if you can, let the night air out & fresh (haha) air in & then curtain up again around 9am.

Put your water bottles in the freezer. Bananas are nice from the freezer too!

Dd1 had the same at school too, they stay in & watch films 7 are given ice poles....dd loves it!

I am hoping the cool change gets here soon and dumps loads of rain. Everything is just so dry!

I hope you guys are coping alright today too!

Mad here today, stepping outside is like being in the blast of a hairdrier. 43 at the moment. Our weather is to break tonight though, what about Melbourne esselle?

Thanks for the tips sandcastles, I'm quite pleased with how we've all coped really, a lot of Aussies are complaining loads more than us. bring on the summer - eeeek!

Rom, as long as you can take it relatively easy, it isn't too bad!

Get a paddling pool ready for 5ish, it's not to bad around then. I got in with the girls last week, & will again tonight!

You get to know what to do & what not. It is harder when you have a run of high temp days, as the house just doesn't cool down!

Make sure you have the insulated freezer bags when you do your shop...

There is supposed to be a cool change coming through tonight...

Then it will hopefully rain on the weekend.

You guys have my greatest sympathies - I lived in Adelaide for a few years and had a few heatwaves while I was there. It didn't cool down at night and was so hard to sleep!! Mind you I was living in cheap share houses with no cooling.

I saw on the news today that the average temp for Nov in Adelaide is 20C LESS than you have got it now. Eeek! I hope summer isn't this harsh!

Yes, it has been on the warm side. My DH flew back from a meeting in that storm and wind in a tiny plane last night. He landed looking slightly ashen.

I actually haven't found it as bad as the heatwave at the start of the year, but I think that's because we have been more sensible, and just cowered indoors in the air con.

Office is so cold though that some people have little under desk heaters on.

We need rain though! Even my hardy plants are looking feeble.

I lived in Adelaide about 16 years ago. dh was given an exchange posting (military). I loved the place. Miss Aus loads.

Hope you are all keeping cool. Wish I could send you some rainwater from rainy Manchester UK!!!
