Any recommendations in Belgium for helping child with self-confidence

I'm trying to find classes or a specialist/therapist for my son. Anything to improve his self-confidence!
We had an appointment with the school psychologist but she's not available for a couple of weeks and we've gone down this road before so am not sure it's going to be any use - after weeks of tests we were just given the conclusion that he likes playing by himself, talk about frustrating

Even if someone has found French versions of some of the books other mums have recommended on here (the unwritten rules of Friendship etc) that would be a help.

Hi you could try the link above. I don't know where you're based, but I lived in Brussels for 5 months (moved there this time last year). I found them very useful. I used them for myself though, so I've no experience of them with a child. Good luck!

The BCT Lifers group can be helpful with these kind of questions - happy to pass on a message....

Thanks for your replies WartoScreamo, what is BCT lifers ?

The thing is, I've just realised on checking with the first link, that it's English-speaking specialists, which is no good. His English is quite good, when he does use it but not enough to benefit from therapy.

I think I will have to go with the school psychologist for the moment, although with his school trip and half term it's going to be another couple of weeks before we can arrange something, which is a bit frustrating. Anyway can't be helped, meantime I'll keep looking for extra help. Maybe this BCT lifers could be useful ?

Thanks for your help

Brussels Childbirth Trust. Local version of the NCT. I'm a member of the lifers group and people are always asking questions about where/how etc. A bit like MN

So he speaks French? If you can phrase a request with all the info I can send it out to see if anyone can help. [email protected] (without xxx)

PS I am in Nossegem so about 5 mins from you if you ever fancy a coffee.
