I'm trying to sort out what sort of clothes we'll need for a holiday in late March. Will it be t-shirts and shorts? Still cold enough for a jumper in the evenings?

Also, is there anything I shouldn't bring in my luggage. Saw a programme the other day saying that you're not allowed codeine based painkillers. Is there a useful guide anywhere? Bit scared of bringing something in that I shouldn't.

Thanks

i go out there loads, you are fine if you have boxes and drug descriptions, but codeine is banned.

late march its v unlikely you would need jumpers due to weather, but whever you are there you will need them coz of aircon. It's v fierce. Where you staying?

How near to Dubai do you want? I live there so if thats close enough I would say, its been cold recently, it snowed 70km away from Dubai. They dont even have a word for snow in Arabic!!!!
Anyway to answer your questions, the temperature has gone up in the last day, it had been hovering around 23 in the day and 15 at night. However looking out the window at the clear blue sky today is perfect weather. Yesterday went up to 29, so it would seem all is reverting to normal, as far as possible.

For March it is prime holiday time, lots of linen, beach cover ups, short sleeve t shirts for the malls (or longer as they are usually freezing). Maybe jeans or trousers for the evening and a cardie or the ubiquitous pashmina. Loads of bling if thats your thing as you can never be too over dressed.

Def no codeine. If you have a script then get a letter from your doctor and carry it with you. Generally all seems to go well unless you happen to be exceptionally stupid as some people always are and then they are looking for an opportunity. All the info is here.

Thanks to both of you. We'll be going to Fujairah, but we're flying to Dubai. Not sure exactly which hotel yet, might be the Mirimar.

Looking forward to a bit of sun, just stocked up on the factor 50 for the kids, we're all prepared now! It's just reached -1 here, so anything has to be better than that.
