.... how big the spiders are getting in England these days ...

To misquote the great Crocodile Dundee:

"That's not a spider. This is a spider!"

Photos on my profile if you dare.

OMG! [faints]

McDreamy Sun 28-Sep-08 13:56:24

Ewww don't talk to me about cockroaches, I hate them but they insist on living with us! They are disgusting and I can't get rid! I can't wait to get back to the UK and leave the creepy crawlies behind! On the other hand I'm not looking forward to the huge energy and shopping bills people keep scaring me with! Not sure what's worse - bills or cockroaches and spiders! grin

EdwardCullenCanHaveMySoul Sun 28-Sep-08 13:57:30

I feel sick......bleurggghhhhh!
That is the no. 1 reason I could not move from middle england.
Where else doesn't have spiders that big? Antartica sounds good to me grin

ghosty Sun 28-Sep-08 14:03:01

No, I am not a spider fan. I hate them. I cried buckets after taking those photos and was actually sick sad. I have a real phobia and the fact I even took the photos is incredible.
As spiders go I suppose he is beautiful but this is the 4th one we have had in the house and he was massive. I made my DH put his hand there to demonstrate the size as my DH has huge hands. Also that is a fair sized Royal Gala there too grin
I am traumatised I have to say sad

MoreSpamThanGlam Sun 28-Sep-08 14:03:28

Sidge Sun 28-Sep-08 14:05:37

I don't mind the spider but I'd rather have him in my bathroom please! Is it Jonny Wilkinson?

BecauseImWorthIt Sun 28-Sep-08 14:06:25

Ghosty - I'd forgotten it was you who had the picture of JOhnny Wilkinson!!! What a flutter that gave my heart!

FoghornLeghorn Sun 28-Sep-08 15:20:50

Ihate spiders but I am absolutely terrified of cockroaches. I could never ever live in Oz or the like for that very reason

ghosty Sun 28-Sep-08 15:21:35

Right, I am going to bed now, it is 12.20 and I need to be up early - not sure how I will fall asleep though, I am still very wired ....

Ratface Sun 28-Sep-08 15:22:37

cant swim in the sea up north anyway, whats the point of that? (am being facetious; you can swim in the sea up to about....noosa. maybe airlie beach. after that tho, the box jellyfish and sharks will do for you. nice eh?)
youd like byron bay... go to byron bay. the sand there is deliciously soft and silky.... its my Happy Place, the beach at BB smile[

ghosty Sun 28-Sep-08 15:23:51

Foghorn, I did tell DH today that I can't live here forever. I really don't know how I can sad although I adore Melbourne ....
I am sure the likes of suzy will come on later and tell me I need to toughen up and remind me of the 'kitten paw' incident.
But I am not brave like her. That suzy, she's hard as nails ...
