Schools in Dubai?

Hello,

we have recently relocated to Dubai. I have an 8yr old and a 12 yr old and we are looking at schools for September. They will be entering yr5 and yr9 then. So far I have visited Safa British school, which we loved and my eldest attended FS1 there in 2008, before we went home. We are touring a few others just to be sure but I wondered if anyone here has any experience of Gems Founders Al Barsha? If so I'd love to hear your opinion? I am unable to do a tour there as they are fully booked until June so I cannot get a feel for it personally, but it looks good on their website. We do not have a package to cover schooling and it is waaaaay less £££ than any other schools we are looking at so I'm interested to see how they compare? The kids happiness and the importance of them settling in well will come first, but before we commit elsewhere I'd love to hear a genuine review of Gems Founders.
Thanks in advance for any information.

Where do you live?

GEMS Founders schools are more 'affordable' than others in the brand. You can try sites like whichschooladvisor and schoolscompared. Don't rule out newish schools that are not rated - there haven't been any inspections in the last two years.

Aquila opens y9 in September and is affordable with iGCSE, IB and BTEC plans: schoolscompared.com/all-through/aquila-school-dubailand/

Hi Annabell22, thank you for your reply.

Aquila was on our list of schools to visit and since my first post we did a tour and have chosen there. There's a lovely feel to it, the kids like it and it's an easy commute for drop off and collecting the kids. Thanks for taking the time to reply :-)
