I've discovered 2 of you so far!!! Anyone else out there??

We've been here since 2005, in a small village south of Salzburg.

Have only recently discovered MN and am finding it invaluable esp with the amount of members living overseas and also having problems with language!!

Hi Debinaustria

haha you've lured me out. I live in Wien have 2 dds (8 and 4) and we have been here since 2000 but not sure for how much longer.....

I saw your other thread but did not have much else to add. My eldest dd is bi-lingual and attends a bi-lingual volksschule here. My little one's German is not as good as her sister's was at her age but that was due to there being English-speaking children at her kiga - thay have now left and she has 2 more years at kiga (if we are staying) so am not overly worried yet.

We were on holiday near to you 3 weeks ago in St Wolfgang - v v beautiful.

Eva07- We are in Auhof and would definitely be interested in meeting. My son still naps, but most days we are free.

Hi JsMom, we could meet after work (approx. 4 to 4.30 pm) either next week ( 18.-20. Dec) or in January, starting 07.01.

I realise this thread was started a while ago (OK, a few years ago) but I've only just discovered MN
Anyway, we live just south of Vienna and have been here for six years now. DH is Austrian, which makes things a bit easier, and we have three children - one at school and two at Kindergarten. Not many other expats in this area; there are plenty in Vienna and lots of
English-speaking toddler groups etc - I used to go to quite a few when I only had DD1 and before she started Kindergarten but it's not quite as easy now. Any English-language activities here are aimed at non-native speakers - not ideal and often ridiculously expensive too.

Deb - you sound familiar from a thread on another parenting site (Babyworld, I think) about moving to Austria a few years ago now - could this be you? You're certainly in a lovely area anyway; we also spent a summer holiday in St Wolfgang last summer.
