We've got 9 weeks to arrange everything for a move from the UK to Switzerland. Can anyone give me some tips about what I need to sort? My job will take care of moving our things, and I know I need to sort schools for DC. Anything else on the list? I have no clue what to do with bank accounts, mobile contract, driving licence.... and can feel anxiety levels rising when I think about it! Confused

Ask to speak with your company's immigration vendors, they will probably help with all this stuff including recommending schools for dc.

A company move is really the least stressful move you can do Smile

You won't be able to sort out the admin things such as phone, bank account etc until you arrive and have an address registered with the local authority. Whereabouts are you moving to as each canton and gemeinde is different. Are you hoping to get into local school or will your company fund international school ? Iirc you can drive on your UK licence for up to a year then convert it by taking an eye test and completing paperwork. If you leave it longer you have to take a practical test in the local language. Suggest you join the yahoo group expat moms in Switzerland to tap into others' experience and advice.
