USA Buying over the counter meds?

coldflange · 30/07/2017 15:19

I'm heading off to USA tomorrow for 6 nights and still have symptoms of thrush.

I've had prescriptions from the GP but it's not cleared up.

I have just taken one of the oral capsules purchased otc here in uk.

My question is: if this doesn't work what would I be able to buy in a pharmacy in USA? It's northern california. I don't want to have to suffer, nor do I want to go down having to have medical bills and dealing with insurance.

Thanks.

You should be able to get this brand in any pharmacy off the shelf.
www.monistat.com/yeast-infection-treatment

I think this is the off the shelf alternative to Diflucan / fluconazole.

Thank you.

Am hoping I won't need anything, but it's good to be prepared.

Yes you can buy in the supermarket and it's so cheap I normally bring back a few boxes Smile

I was expecting it to be expensive.

Might stock up then, even if I feel better ;)

American medications are great
The miconozole is about $3 for 3 day treatment

I'm so pissed off at myself as I forgot to buy any drugs last week when I was there Angry

It's often stocked with the Sanpro. I had to ask for something for 'yeast infections'
(Love US tv commercials for all medicines -so much info but so coy!)

Acetaminophen is simply paracetamol, it doesn't have anything else in it. g.co/kgs/VHhC4N

But hope you feel better for pointing that out
