Lets have a new thread the other was getting a bit long!

All expats are welcome, I come from Perth WA and have been here for 8 years, married a pom and live in West London with my ds1 2yrs and ds2 1yr. No plans to move back to Oz but we are thinking of moving to Singapore for a couple of years. Well the weathers got to be better than here, and it will be further away from the inlaws

hi guys, my mil is not too bad but could be better! Just wish she would say whats on her mind rather than smile and say it all great. Can be very confusing and hard work at times.

I think if we ever moved back I would like to live in Melbourne, but that would defeat the purpose of moving closer to the family in Perth.

you not missing Perth even a little bit, not right now?

Not too sure where we are going to live yet as neither of us know Melb. Will probably be western suburbs as it is the side closest to where my family live.

Will just have to check out the places on the internet and when we get there we will go and see which place gives us the best vibe.

Not sure whether to go for cheaper outer suburbs with the bigger new homes but longer commute or inner suburb more expensive homes but less commuting..... the eternal question!!!

I can imagine that would be hard for him as well. I suppose since you have been here so long you have some good friends and support.

Found the new thread Quokka, you are clever!

Hi all,
Another Aussie here, originally from mid north coast NSW, been in London for 6 years now. dd is now 3.5 months and only just starting to get the hang of this motherhood caper.

Kaybee you must be excited about moving back. Never thought about moving back until dd came along and now feeling homesick, especially since my parents visited us last month. Keep thinking of all those willing babysitters on the other side of the world and not here!

How sad.... 10pm sat night and I am on the internet!

sunshine I'm sure it will go well for you. I've had an aussie thread up for ages and we only have about 5 of us in London. I would have thought there was lots of us still here? Maybe the Brit il's have scared them all away .

My alltime favourite Aussie word is bogan, because it so perfectly sounds like what it means!

But I have forgotten most of the Aussie lingo, probably know more Brit slang now, innit.

What I find funny is that Bogan boots are so popular!!! (Uggs)
