DS has been granted a Starlight Wish which will see us spending Christmas this year in the Give Kids the World Village is Kissimmee.

This will be a once in a lifetime experience and we're trying to make every day there special and memorable.

Our children have expressed that they'd love to see me and DP married so we thought we'd look into it whilst there, just a city hall thing not an actual 'wedding' we've attempted this at home but DS has always ended up in hospital or too unwell to do it.

Can someone from the area arise me on how easy this would be to do and what we'd need to do to make it happen? I'd be eternally grateful thanks in advance. Smile

All the information you need is on here orlandotouristinformationbureau.com/other/getting-married-in-orlando.htm You'll need to apply for your license on the first day there, as it'll take 3 days to process.

My daughter got married in Orlando 14 years ago.
It was easy peasy. They went to the town hall in Kissimmee with passports for a licence.
You can even get married on the town hall steps if you want no fuss.
In Florida the notary holds the licence to marry you...not the place, so find a notary and then go somewhere nice like Kissimmee lakeside and have your ceremony there.

Some people I know sneaked into Disney' s wedding gazebo at the grand Floridian hotel...that was a bit cheeky but you can get married near the pool at your villa, on the shore of one of the lakes...have a look at celebration.

My daughter got married at mt Dora so she picked a notary up there. Her dress was beautiful about £80 from Macy's or one of the dept stores
Cake was $35 from publix and flowers from a local florist...the same. You can do it all yourself. Don't let anyone rip you off.
We went to our favourite restaurant in mt Dora, sadly closed now and just ordered off the menu...delicious.
Oh she got a photographer who shot two reels of film for $400. He just developed them and gave her the photos and negatives. They were stunning.
The whole wedding came to less than $1000

all done by ourselves and it was perfect
