German Mumsnetters: thank you gift asvoce

TheRealMBJ · 15/07/2016 08:22

Last year we hosted a 16 you German girl on a language exchange for 4 months. We grew very close and this week went to visit her and stayed overnight with her mother and stepfather.

We had a wonderful time and were openly welcomed.

I would like to send them a thank you gift of wine and marzipan (have been reliably informed that this would go down well with them).

Could anyone advise on a good website from which to purchase such?

I think Amazon would probably be your best bet to be honest. I can't think of a website where you would get that particular mix of products and (I assume) gift wrapped and delivered. I did check Galeria Kaufhof but they don't seem to deliver this products.

IME host families have always been very happy to receive typically British things as thank you gifts though if that would make it easier for you? There are some British wines available or local honey/cheese/fudge? In case your original idea doesn't work out.
