Flying home for the summer tomorrow! Half excited, half filled with angst and worry about how my two young kids will cope with no daddy around for 11 weeks, and being in our old house....

Anyone else made their first trip home recently? Any tips?

Second trip for us. I did a last minute trip at Christmas, just me and the kids (So, Christmas from Daddy). And am now back for the summer. DH here atm, but got 6 weeks after he leaves. Were moving round the UK tho, as our house is rented out.
Kids not been phased either. But we have been totally up front about what is happening, and who will be there.
Depending on what the shopping is like where you are, consider bringing an empty suitcase to fill. I packed one suitcase, and then put that case in another suitcase. Also had 2 other bags. Hopefully I don't do more shopping than that Grin
Enjoy, and consider jumpers and rain coats!!!

You'll soon get to the stage that home is where you live and overseas is where you visit in the summer....
