Fascinating question about Singapore beds and UK bedding

We were going to take all our beds with us, but the condo we're looking at right now has built in beds in the dcs' rooms. Apparently they are 'super single' size, a bit wider and a bit shorter than standard UK single size.

I want to buy bedding before we go because it's one of those things that everyone says is really expensive out there. If we buy single flat sheets here will they fit the beds? Or would we be better buying doubles? We only have fitted atm, which obviously won't fit, so need to buy something.

Buy sheets when you get there, they're not that expensive, maybe a couple of $$ more than the uk.

A Singapore super single is 110 x 190 cm. An ikea fitted sheet in Singapore is 120 x 200 so would work and cost sSGD 20 (about GBP 10). I've never heard of sheets being much more expensive in Singapore - most of my sheets were from Ikea or (for super Egyptian cotton luxury) Friven in Singapore with 70% discount. Debenhams, John Lewis etc ship too. Wait to see where you live before buying sheets, built in beds are unusual so if that condo falls through, you may not need them at all.

That's great, thanks. Maybe I'm just getting confused with advice about different sizes and to buy bedding in UK if you're bringing your UK bed.

Yes buy those odd measurements in singapore. There's always a big sale somewhere. And if not there's Ikea!
