We are moving to Abu Dhabi and we have been offered a place in reception at Repton, Abu Dhabi, any views/opinions would be greatly appreciated.

No no no nope no. Don't do it. They have spaces because they are new with no track record. Unrelated to Repton in the UK. lots of issues higher up the school in Dubai.

Try this school it is renowned to be the best in Abu Dhabi. www.britishschool.sch.ae. People here move schools when a place comes up at the school they want. Don't be disheartened, apply here, get on the wait list and be polite on a regular basis to the registrar.

Thank you so much for your honesty, I will not consider this school any further, my only worry is if we cannot find a school place, we will not be able to join my husband as planned. I have already applied to BSAK and have been told my chances of a place are not great.

Have you look look Brighton College Abu Dhabi? A good friend who lives in Abu Dhabi switched he children from BSAK to Brighton Brighton Brighton adamant that it is the best school in Abu Dhabi.

Where are you planning on living? You could also look at BISAD or Amity International School. Do you need the place immediately or is it for next September? If it's for now, it's going to be tough. I doubt you will get BSAK. We have been told by Brighton that they aren't opening for FS2 at all. Nor is Cranleigh.

The Aldar schools opened admissions last week, so it might be worth applying online. Also, would you consider American or Canadian schools? There are 2 good schools in Khalifa City A. GEMS American and Canadian International School. These schools don't start until 4, so it means there are lots of places and you stand a good chance of getting in. GEMS has 12 classes in KG1, so plenty of places. I know people who have children in both schools and are very happy.

What age are your kids? FS1 and FS2 are the hardest to get kids into. My son was very lucky to get into Canadian International School.

You want either A2 or A3 schools (the difference between them is usually Arabic and Islamic classes).

I am looking for a place in KS2 and also Y7, at the moment have an offer from a B4 school and not sure whether we should accept it.... this is proving really difficult!

Don't not accept Repton if it's all you have. It's not a rubbish school at all. I have friends with children there and it's ok. Especially for reception. They do get a lot of homework though.
For your Yr 7 child you will probably stand a much better chance in all the schools. It's really the first few years there is such demand. Try Brighton or Cranleigh. For that age I think you'd be OK. Or BISAD.

Don't not accept. Better to have them in a lower level school then no school. You can always look for new ones. Raha international is good as well.
