Definitely Warldof Astoria, its lovely! Much nicer than the Doubletree or Al Hamra.....

I haven't stayed at the Cove Rotana but lots of my friends have and it's got a good family friendly reputation

Rixos is party central every weekend as they offer all inclusive, which most places don't. So all the young teachers, nurses etc go mad. No idea about kids stuff there.
Waldorf Astoria is my fav, the rooms are huge. Again no idea about kids stuff. But service is excellent.
Quite a few people take a pool villa at the Cove and it seems very child friendly.
Be aware it's at least an hour to Dubai whatever they tell you. And it's hot already. 36 today and 41 last Saturday!

Have you found somewhere? I know there are some apartments in Oasis Tower on JBR in Dubai. Great location for a family with kids. Virgin used to offer them, much cheaper than an hotel.
