TOKYO schools?

Hi there,

couldn't find the long running japan thread in actives.....anyone still around? Mirai? TanteRose?

The possible tokyo move is again on the cards....we are already in Asia.

So can I have the top 5 schools for upper primary and middle/high school?

British-IB & US curriculum please. academic definitely preferred. I suppose waitlists are still not an issue? super sporty girl & boy so that needs to be in the ethos of the school too. Selective assesments?

I will have so many other questions after I figure that big question mark.....

many thanks

No idea about 'top five' but these were the most popular when we were there.
British School Tokyo
American School of Japan
ISSH (Girls)
St Mary's (boys)
K international

Because of the urban nature and lack of space, some may not have the facilities for sport that you may be used to. Academics are usually very high as standard.

There are loads. A list sorted by area www.realestate-tokyo.com/info/school/

Thank you!
We have now identified 3-4 schools that would suit....trying to find a good forum to ask other parents fir specifics but nothing comes up on my google search....
Do you know what expat forum for Japan gets a lit if traffic.... There seems to be a black whole with the latest feedback circa 2006!

please please please, any good ( and friendly) expat forums for Tokyo? the only up to date one I found (expatforum.com) has a nasty moderator that starts every reply with "you F*wit have you tried google" Hmm and then goes on with "if you want to stay in your expat bubble don't come!" Confused so pretty pointless asking any question....
