Australia. In i.t funnily enough dh got his job through one of the come to aus seminar things. :0)
He does now recruit from the uk and the company he works for sponsors.

I was headhunted for a new position. So for my employer it wasn't an ex-pat move, but a permanent relocation until they decide to dispose of me.

Which in retail, is frighteningly frequent. shock

The company DH now works for knew that the refinery he was working at was up for sale and targeted local newspapers accordingly. We're here because the company was able to prove to the Government that there was no one here with the right skills to do the job.

No it's not as glamorous as it sounds. It's the norm in my business to headhunt as it's very fast paced with high turnover.

As a headhunting company is finding a director for you on one department, they are normally trying to coax someone out of the office next door.... confused

Quite the opposite really. Dh like all new employees are sponsored on a 457 temp res visa. This gives you 4 years working and living here. They then sponsored our pr. Or I guess you leave back to the uk if it's not what you want :0)
Dh would like nearly any software it people., project managers, assets managers, business analysts. Huge short supply here! grin

We are in South America. Dh offered a new role within the same company and we thought if we didn't accept we would always wonder what if? So here we are...
